Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | Greetings,
Shep asked if I would take over running the swap.
I am going to try to keep things the same as last year as I feel it has been good.
The date is Saturday, February 11, 2012 starting at 7pm. It will be at the same location (Best Western - Midway in Brookfiled).
A few details are still being confirmed and then a flier will be released.
Just like last year, the proceeds of the raffle will go to support Operation Muskie.
We are looking for sponsors of the event so if you can help or know someone who can, please contact me at [email protected]
If you have questions about the event, please post them on this thread. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | Like I mentioned, we will strive to keep it the same as last year. No fee for table space. First come first serve. One slight change, you will be required to purchase one raffle ticket per person over 12 years old, for $5, but there will be the option to purchase additional raffle tickets. This is a fund raiser for a great cause! |

| Thanks for running this Joe! This is an awesome event-lots of good camaraderie between musky fishermen and supporting a great event.
Last year the swap raised $1600 to support Operation Muskie. Each year, OM sends 20 Veterans returning from recent combat deployments to LOTW. The average cost per Veteran is $1500. That means the swap meet sponsored 1 Veteran for a trip of a life time to relax after serving his country on a combat deployment. That’s awesome that musky fishermen working together supported our Veterans!!
Our Veterans make enormous sacrifices to serve our country and to preserve our freedom. Thanks to ALL of the individuals running and participating in the swap meet. Your support of Operation Muskie demonstrates your dedication to serve your country by supporting our Veterans. Thank you for your contributions to Operation Muskie!

| Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun organizing this throughout the 9 years. I remember the first one at Magoo's, and the sign featuring Thich Shady and the MuskieNut Dancers! Remeber the guy that came in later in the light blue velour outfit!!??
I am most proud that once we started the raffle donations, we sent 3 Vets to Operation Muskie! I thank all those attending, and those donating, for their support to this great cause.
Great news that once again, Tuffy Boats is loosening everybody up with a keg of beer again this year!
Have a great time this year. I've got work stuff to do that weekend, but I'm sure there will be a moment or two when I'll really miss being there. Everybody give Joe the finger for me! hehehe |

| Even if you let me in at 6:30, I won't have enough to get them set up. Having my daughter help will be great, but how do you want them displayed? In coolers? On the tables? In boxes? Selling some Lakewoods too. Never done this and need some hell. Bringing the last of the 6" Perkas from '06 and '07, even found some of the original Castors. Selling the Perkas cuz I found a box of 30 blanks, that should last me forever. 50+- Grandmas, all brand new. 50 brand new Big fork trolling lures, all brand new. Some Mike King Lures and more. I go on basement patrol every day.
Wait, I don't want to swap, I'm in sell mode, I have 5x too many lures, I don't need any more.

| Beav, I'm not running this anymoe. Jomusky is. When I did it, nothing in before 6:30, and I always asked to share table space. Table space is limited. See the pictures from last year. The guys that made the racks got the right idea to display lots of baits against the wall. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Just got done packing the trailer for the show/swap meet. Got a big box of lures and rods for the swap, the Operation Musky Banquet and the actual event this year. Hope you all can bid em up for the Veterans.
I also have some special SuperD lures signed by retired 4 Star General Tommy Franks. 20 are for the Veterans and 3 will be given to Operation Musky to be auctioned off. It was an honor to meet with General Franks and I was pleased he took the time to sign all of the SuperDs for the Veterans. What an outstanding individual he is! In short General Franks was in charge of all allied forces after 911.
More about General Franks: http://www.tommyfranks.com/About.shtml
See you all there and please stop by the Tackle Industries booth and say hi. All active and inactive veterans also get an additional 10% off all my tackle. Also all profits from Tubby Tubes are donated to Veterans and Children's Charities (not just for the sow but always). Also will be taking over $4000 in lures to give away to kids through the show.

Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | Just got back from the swap.....great turnout, a little lighter in the wallet but got a bunch of baits thanks to Beaver. He put some package deals together that even the godfather couldn't refuse. Great to see some of the new and old muskiefirster's at thier best with a donated beer from Tuffy boats.
Thanks Joe Muskie, Shep, and Operation Muskie.
See you all on the water.
Netman
I just wanted to say thanks to all the baits that were donated. I missed getting in the credits BIG MAMA BAITS. She donated 4 baits when she first walk in and then gave us another later group after that.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | The grand total we raised for Operation Muskie is $1,284.00
A big thanks to all that attended and dug deep into their pockets.
Another huge thank you to the sponsors:
Tuffy Boats
Tackle Industries
Gerry's Girls
Big Mama Baits
C & R Musky Club
Beav (just when I thought we were getting close to done with the raffle he throws at least 35 more baits on the table)
The help:
Netman
Ed Casper and his son Joe
my son Tyler
Steve Worrall
and the Operation Muskie crew
I'm figuring on the same arrangement for next year and hopefully a few improvements.
If anybody has any leads on more sponsors or donations, any help would be greatly appreciated.
This year was the most fun I've had at the swap.

| You is welcome
I was thinking today,,,,,,, since this is an awesome charity that we chose to raise money for, why don't we do a better job at it? It wouldn't be hard.
All of us, being muskie fishermen, have tons of lures that never or barely somtimes see the water. If you have a table to sell lures from, you should donate 5 lures to the auction for prizes. The more prizes, the better the auction....correct? Anyone donating a prize will get a free ticket. Its lots of fun, you can get lures at a steal. Let's share and pass things in the right direction. Donate prizes and get tickets for the raffle, or beer tickets if you prefer. That many people and that much stuff in a room should equal more trips for vets. They all took trips that we're glad that we didn't have to take, lets make a serious effort at paying them back.
I can build lures, so next year I'm going to make and donate lures just to and for veterans. There has to be more that we can do.
