Shimano Compre 6'6"

I have a brand new Compre (6'6") that has never had a reel seated or touched the water.

I big part of me wants to sell the rod for an eight footer. I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions. I am not certain if any uses this size rod anymore. Like most I have moved up the scale in length.

So:

1.) Is it sensible to believe I could sell the rod?
2.) SWAP the rod, perhaps, at a show?

or

should I just use the darn thing since it is unlikely I can unload it.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

There are a lot of guys who prefer that length rod for a jerk bait or sucker rod. Why not try to sell it on this web site? It won't cost you anything and if it turns out that there are no takers you could always take it to a swap meet.

How do know you won't like it till you try it? Conversely, you may find that the 8 footer is really not to your liking either. You might consider trying it out next season first rather then to have any regrets later about getting rid of it. You won't loose that much off the asking price if it was only used a few times and is in like new shape.

I would try to sell it in the Buy/Sell section or post it on Cragslist. There is always someone willing to buy something, as long as the price is suitable. Just be aware that you will take a sizable loss, even if the rod has done nothing but sat on the shelf. If you can't sell it for what you would like to, go try it out. If you don't like it, give it to a kid.
