| Do you have more confidence in natural color patterns (perch, walleye, cisco, you get the idea) or gaudy, unnatural colors (firetiger and the like)?
I'd like to put a few variables in this poll (water clarity, retrieve speed, time of year, cloud cover/weather conditions, et cetera), but we'll just go with this for now. |

| Depends on the water. Clear water, I would start with the natural patterns; and try something a little bit funkier if the natural patterns fail to produce. But I wouldn't go too far. Dark water, brighten it up a bit. Maybe start with firetiger; or an orange belly perch. A few years ago a 50" fish was caught in the first hours of a tournament at Pymatuning Reservoir, PA, on a strawberry colored Wiley. Strawberry? |

| Strawberry is a good color on Pym. Ive seen close to 10 fish caught on Pym with that color. If I'm trolling I usually run half and half. |

| middle Allegheny river they like naturals spring thru fall. Winter they seem to like flourescents. Lower allegheny I fish Fluorescents mostly. Lures that are white seem to bridge the gap for me. |

Location: Denmark | I am still battling with this question, and I think there is no wise old man here. But the general believe seems to be vivid colors in stained water, and visa versa.

| I have confidence in natural colors. That being said, orange and chartreuse seem to get bitten more than natural for me, especially if you're fishing schools of bait. Seems like the loud colors seem to seperate themselves from the natural forage whereas natural blends in? I dunno, but it seems to be the case for me. So now I'm starting to go towards the louder colors. Oh yeah, and black. Now I'm just confused.... |
