Location: Eastern Ontario | "Was looking at getting a 400te. Now I hear rumours that Shimano is not making replacement parts for the Calcuttas. Anyone hear the same or experience this?"
This was posted on the Muskies Canada form a while back if true there could be a lot of unhappy campers.
How long should a manufacturer keep parts available after discontinueing a model particularly a higher end product? | |

| Hi, All Calcutta 400TE parts are available through Shimano in Irvine Ca for all United States customers. Many service centers also have parts. Canada customers have to order from a Canadian source which could be limited. I know this because I have Musky customers calling me from Canada looking for parts. The original parts for Calcutta models with prefix code CT made from 1991 -2003 are limited such as the popular model CT400. Gears, drags, shafts, worms, pawls, bearings are all still available.
