Pretty much everything up north is locked up. I'm curious how far south the ice line is. Your waters open still?

Irritating when there is no ice but you have these persistent lows and occluded frontals with rain everyday for days at a time. I think KY just broke a 74 year old precipitation record. Some years the rains hit right and its bonus, this year, not for me.

4 fishermen out on a lake west of Rhinelander last night. Hearing reports of 4 to 6 inches on some lakes already.

No historical records, but the same strange rain patterns really made things weird for me as well this year, FSF. Yet opposed to others, I can still hope that ice never locks me out.

Out on the Eagle River Chain tonight. 2-4 inches of ice and no walleyes. My brother was featured on channel 12 showing how to use a tip-up though, so that was pretty cool.

The ice shacks are already going out here on Vermilion. We have about 9 inches of ice in many areas of the main lake. Surface conditions are excellent with just a light dusting of snow on the ice.

Happy Holidays.

My brother emailed me today and said Walker Bay on Leech Lake had finally succumbed to old man winter this morning.

Called Smokey's today, sounds like the east end is very close to icing up but the west end is still open.
