| Does anybody with expericence with this reel have any comments? Postitive or Negative?
I did a search and did get many hits. I know there are other reels out there. I'm interested in this one for DC10's and Regular sized Bull Dawgs. My friend runs a guide service in Florida out of Charlotte Harbor and can get a few new, in the box, for a great price on a close out sale.
I'm just wondering if they are bad, OK, good, great - etc. and any comments. They weight 21 oz.. so not light weight, that's for sure.

Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | I used one before I got the Toro 60 Winch..I liked it fine...had an issue with the spring on the lever, but that was more operator error getting used to not having a thumb bar or push button the first month or so.
I have since sold them to my cousins and they are both still using them.
Decent reel for the money (especially if you can get a "deal" on them) IMHO. China made now though and not as durable as the old 7000s.

Location: Denmark | Amb 7000 is a great reel, don't know about the new ones though. I services some last year(first gen Taiwan made), that has been used without any maintenance, by a guiding firm for trolling in saltwater. They where so corroded on the outside that i took me hours to clean, and the handles has to be removed with a wrench.. The inside was almost like new :). Strong reels, for little money.
