| Hi,
Fishing vertical for pike in Europe is quite new. Im quite intrested in your experiences in this kind of fishing. Does Bondy Bait work well? Hows Fuzzy Duzzit? And what about how to work those baits in lakes? |

| Roger, the guys I know it Canada just cast and jig the baits down breaklines or jig them along weedlines. Here is a picture of a pike that took a Bondy head first that was fished along a drop off on Great Slave Lake...Jon

Location: Detroit River | I use Bondy Baits, & other blade baits to jig for pike over deep water. I just look for balls of bait on my sonar & drop my bait down to the bait fish level. Bait fish will ball up when predator fish are feeding on them & anything that looks like a dying fish will get hit. The strikes are vicious, even from the smaller pike.

| Thanks for your answers! I fish in the Baltic sea and it is quite often that pike is hunting herring, ciscoes and other species at depths of 18 to 60 feet of water. Its hard to get those pikes With conventional methods. So I thought that vertical jigging around those Bait fishes maybe would be key. Do you think Bondy Bait or Bondy Bait jr Will work best? Other lures that you think Will work? |

| The Echhotail by Vibrations tackle is a great jigging bait for pike. Check out the baits. I use them for muskies and have done well on them.

| Another good jigging plastic is the Mojoe from live Action lures.
Lots of fish over 50" coming on them in the Detroit river and areas around St.Clair.

Location: north central wisconsin | Don't forget about the Hardhead and Buckethead lures by H2O tackle(Roger frequents this site quite a bit). People have been nailing a number of monsters on Detroit River as of the past couple falls on his lures, jigged. Man, that place must be a jiggers paradise! I run the Hardheads here and they are great. I'm gonna have to pick up a Bondy or two to round out the arsenal.
Back to the rifle stand to try for Herbies brother(Herbie and Herbies cousin died Saturday).

| Interesting concept....mark a ball of baitfish and drop down a large jigging bait...I've always marked the ball, moved the boat OFF the ball, then casted dawgs to where I think that ball was. Have had some success doing this, but maybe this idea of staying on the ball or the edge of the ball and jigging would keep a bait in the strike zone longer. Interesting. |
