I read on the internet where they said when you buy A boat buy it locally because unlike car dealers boat dealers do not have to do warranty work on A boat if you did noy buy it from them.I was wondering if any of you know how the local dealers in Madison WI are when it comes to doing warranty work when you didnt buy from them.

that is unlikely.
dealers make money off of warranty repairs and on repairing motors
if they like money then they will do it

Ditto on the above, except that if you didn't buy it from them in my experience, they don't make it a priority to work on you rig. It often will sit in favor of those that were purchased from them during peak periods.

Depends on the dealer. It's in their best interest to service all warranty work, but if they're stacked with customer cash pay work, they'll likely do that 1st because with warranty, they usually get paid at a lower labor rate. If you didn't buy from them, your boat will probably have to wait in line behind customers who did buy from them.

The only time I had an issue that speaks to this was a pretty serious fuel line issue on a MirroCraft I used to own while on a fishing trip in MN. Found a Mirro dealer out there who dropped everything to get it back on the water ASAP. Pretty impressive considering it was 400 miles from the Mirro dealership I bought it at (and it was July 3rd)!
