Heres another angle to consider:

He released a nice fish. While the journalism may be a bit sensational...he caught what for him was a fish beyond his capacity to judge accurate size due to inexperience with big muskies. Then he released it, good for him and the message it sends.

We need more people with his mindset when they catch a "giant".

That's what I read. A lucky angler caught (and released) a fish of a lifetime. Everyone on this board assumes every angler and journalist knows what the dimensions of a WR should be. To me the story is anyone with a line in the water can catch a huge fish.

Did not know bps had a sort of bounty out for the world record musky as stated in the article .We don't need a bunch of fish being killed to verify weights.Any one know if this is true

Is it commonplace for the trolling boats to not kick the boat into neutral when they hook up over there? Might explain the 30+ minute fight. I see alot of trollin' and draggin' going on around here, and we troll with 30' of line out.
