Any body been to the St. Louis River in Duluth recently?  Does this river typically stay open until Dec. 1?  Good fall bite?  Does the river have any protection from the wind on a windy day?  In other words is this a good place to go when you are typically being blown off your favorite lake? Are there shad in this river? Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Heading out of the metro for a couple days of some new water adventures.

No shad, can get very windy and rough out there.

The place has been drawn down for the winter by the power company. If this is your first time you'd better bring 3 extra props and/or a jet boat. That place is a rock garden for sure.
