Looking forward to seeing what Tom gets this year.

Looking at a few of his past fish I am sure it will be big

Ya, he needs a little blizzard, 6' waves and -5F to start to get in the mood to go fish!

Tom Gelb once got bit by a rattle snake. After three days of pain and agony the rattle snake died

Tom Gelb would already be fishing and catching but he's waiting on his new client, Chuck Norris who is still bundling up at the dock asking for another pair of socks to keep his little piggies warm.

Tom Gelb does not go fishing because the word "fishing" infers the possibility of failure. Tom Gelb goes catching.

Wrong. I was just reading through some back issues of MH and in one of Gelb's articles, he explains how he fishes the 'big fish zone' and his skunk rate is something like 82%. That's a lot of not catching, but when he does, it will be big.

Well Tom Gelb has a grizzly bear carpet in his living room. The bear isn't dead, it's that afraid to move...

Tom Gelb does not wait for the fish to bite. Tom Gelb tells the fish when to bite.

Tom Gelb once waved his oar at a cow and butter came out.

Tom Gelb rows his boat with forks just to keep things interesting.

Tom Gelb is currently suing NBC over the rights to the name "Law & Order". Those are the names of his oars.

You really have to love this: I can think of one really good stick that gets flak for being "short," another who gets it for looking like one of the beach boys, one who can't complete an entire sentence withot out naming two of his products, another who gets referred to by the moniker Captain D-bag...all really great sticks, all way better than me and most of the guys I know, but then there is old Tom Gelb and the only thing anybody (and nearly everybody) (and me too) think of this guy is that he is some sort of Chuck Norris, John Wayne & James Bond all rolled into one.
And, getting him to say something nice about himself would be harder than catching fish on Pewaukee Lake was for me this year. An un-challenged hero without a single detractor.....Not too shabby Tom!

Now if only Tom would log on and say hello. Just a couple quick questions if you're on here reading this:

1) Is it true you don't smile, you just flex your teeth?
2) Can you really grill a popsicle?

I just hope that if he catches another big one, he releases it. I find they release very well in the cold water.

That dudes has released tons of big muskies, I wouldn't worry about him keeping 2 fish in the last few decades.

I hear you.  It's a great accomplishment, it's legal and his right by law--I'm just saying that I hope that he does not keep a third big fish.  Those fish are better off with a kodak moment and swimming back in the system--those are the fish you don't want to lose if you don't have to.

Haters gotta hate. He kept one fish, then caught another one and it died so he kept that one by default. I've had fish die in the net, it sucks but it happens.

I bet if we all stop fishing there will be tons of huge muskies. :/

You must care because you came on to read the posts, then even respond yourself.

And all you haters complaining because he killed 1 or 2 big fish out of all he has caught are doing more harm than good. Its that elitist attitude that makes non C+R guys not even consider changing their mind, and will even drive them to kill a fish or two out of "spite". I'd love to see 100% of muskies released, but it will never be that way. You got to try to keep a level head and not be such a snob about or nobody is going to listen to you anyway.

You guys gotta let the kepping of MUSKY go. I know locals in WI, where we have a place who keep them all the time. It's still legal as far as I know---some are going to do it purposely--others are going to have the occasional fish die---and still others are going to catch that absolute fish of a lifetime for them and choose to get a skin mount. Let it go--Life goes on and everyone -- including your favorite lake---will be ok. I have met TOM before--great Guy-- great fisherman---and I personally hope he catches a 60lb fish--and could care less if he kept it. I said it---go ahead and keep it ---The sun will come up tomorrow and there will still be plenty of Musky for all of us.

Well, todays Milwaukee paper says, "Aaron Rogers only stays behind two other people in popularity: Jesus Christ and Abe Lincoln! It would not be nice to Christians to take out the guy in first place, but Gelb has to be ahead of Rogers and Honest Abe...at least on this board!

The Musky Gods don't want to upset Tom Gelb.

Tom Gelb can make Cleveland love Lebron James.

Tom Gelb showed the Feds videos of him shooting 2pac and Biggie, but there was not enough evidence to convict him.

Tom Gelb doesn't need GPS. Tom Gelb decides where he is.
