Went out this morning for a few hours and had a feeling it was going to be a big fish day... I was thinking muskie, but I guess I was somewhat right...

Hey dirt with the air and water temps falling you might want to keep yr casting deck a little easier to move around on . i'm a slob in the summer months , but I do keep my boat tidier as the temps fall , it lessens the chance of tripping and dippin . Just tring to help . nice fish the unexpected are somtimes the best stories .

While fishing a tournament on Shelbyville Lake in Illinois I hooked and landed a pair of men's whitey tighties.

As they emerged from the silt the elastic band stretched and then pulled back for an instant and it felt just like a fish would when they hit a spinnerbait from behind so I declared, "There's One" only to see it was not a fish. I took A LOT of ribbing from my boat partner that day.

Sounds about like what I saw in the first 100 yards fishing Everett Bay this summer, I even saw a picnic table submerged in 6 FOW... no one was sitting at it enjoying the day however.

A few combos, a pair of briefs, several lures, and what I thought was a rope at first, but turned out to be a power cable running from the mainland out to an island. Never really thought about how they got power to those homes out on islands before. Also never thought I'd have to worry about being electrocuted while muskie fishing!

And Sled - I'd have put that on a QS rig!

that house over your shoulder looks like it would be worth about $28k more than a comparable one on a bluegill and bass-only lake.

Sled,

Not sure which house you are referring to, but houses like that on Tonka are typically worth between one million and two million dollars. The one on the right is probably worth at least 2 million. It has nothing to do with Muskies and everything to do with location, location and location.

The cool thing is one doesn't have to own a house on the lake to fish there - at least not yet.....

Seen a guy catch a garbage bag this year. I reminded him there was a 20 gallon size limit and he needed to throw it back.

Friggin garbage bags are all too often an occurrence. I get them all the time while salmon trolling lake michigan. Kinda makes you wonder about those enormous floating garbage masses in the oceans. The most recent one created by the tsunami last year. Not that we could have controlled the tsunami but we (generally speaking of course) sure can screw up this great place we all live in/on.

There are other fish in most lakes besides just muskies. Shocking, I know.
