I just weighed my navigator 165cs, and it was 2360.

that was higher than i expected. It says under 1000 dry weight on the alumacraft site.

Does have a full tank of gas, and 90 h.p 4 stroke.. Figured 1500-1800 lbs.

It was hooked to my vehicle, would it make a difference unhitched?

Dave

Hi Dave,

I would assume this is weighed while on the trailer since it was hooked to your vehicle?

If so, the trailer weight is being added to that as well.

Off the top of my head since I own the same boat..

boat 961 pounds
Motor 350 pounds
bow mount: 50 pounds
2 TM batt: 120 pounds
rear batt 40 pound (cranking)
23 gal gas: 120 pounds

This comes to about 1650 before loading your gear. Add on a trailer of roughly 600 pounds, and the 2360 you got is pretty close...

Unhitched could make a little difference since some of the weight is being distributed to the truck at the front end.

Dave if your around Madison Wi I have a scale at the shop. You should unhook and just leave the trailer on the scale. It's close the way you did it but the vehicle is holding some of the weight (tongue weight).

thanks, but im in indiana.

so you think it would be heavier off the car?

I was just surprised because i have it unloaded for storage, just batteries and gas.

thought it would be 1700-2000. Didnt think the trailer would weigh that much either.

Had a 1750 fishhawk before, i thought that wouldve weighed around 2000

thanks

My 1987 Tuffy Muskie Rampage weighs 1200 lbs. That is boat, trailer and 75 hp. Mariner. No gas or equipment. I'm just now redoing the boat so it was empty. That is disconnected just sitting on scale. I would just add your tongue weight. The trailer is being supported by the hitch.

Hi, not sure what trailer you have but your boat is not quite the same model as mine but close and I have a karavan trailer with a axle that maxes out 2700lbs so another 300lbs and your maxed out. I would imagine most of us out there are pretty much riding everything out at close to there max or beyond all the time.
