I would get the HS for big jerkbaits, the Winch doesent pick the line up very quick. You would have to make 2-3 turns of the handle after every jerk...

If you're using these baits as jerk baits then I would suggest the high speed version but if your using these big baits as crankbaits then the Winch is just about perfect for them. |

Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | I love mine...have them on the two rods I use the most...no issues and wouldn't hesitate buying more. I have a spare in the box waiting to go if I ever have trouble with one up here in the north woods. |

| very good reel.
just keep that #*^@ spool filled up completly, if not you feel like you got a mixer in your hand. BTW plenty of power for crankbaits and big blades, but absolutely not a reel made for burning all day long. |

Location: Black Creek, WI | Durabilty and smoothness has been great after 2 seasons with mine. Thus, my conclusion is that its a quality reel. However, the slow(er) gear ratio does require some changes in operator habit.... especially when fighting a fish as it picks up slack line at a much slower pace (no surprise). |

| I've only got a season on mine, so I can't speak to durability. Here's what I know:
1. Comfortable
2. Smooth
3. Makes pulling double 10's a breeze all day
If something happened to it, I'd buy another. BUT:
It did cost me a pretty substantial fish this year, that ate on the end of a cast. Felt the fish, set the hook hard, fish turned and swam right at the boat. Lost the fish while I was reeling like an idiot trying to catch up with it. Just couldn't keep a bend in the rod. I'm not saying I would have caught that fish with any other reel, but that was definitely a case of needing to pick up a lot more line a lot more quickly.
I've tried it for jerkbaits and WTD topwaters, because I was too lazy to change baits around on my other rods. As you would expect, it does not work well for those applications. The regular Revo Toro, however, does that job very nicely.
If you use it for what it was designed for, I think you'll find that it's a pretty nice reel.

| good reel, but i see it as a DCG reel. I always say it's a one trick pony. It doesn't pick up line fast enough for other lures. It works great with large blades and takes away alot of work from the person reeling due to the lower gears. But i use the 5:1 for other lures. Another issue with the REVO is i find it hard to take apart and clean/grease.. maybe it's just me, but i can't find alot of info on maintaining it myself. Very easy to take apart Calcutta's etc... |

| Ive used it for big blades this summer. Everything from 10's to 13's also threw the Hurricane with it. I have been throwing rubber with it this fall and havn't found any problems with it. Youu have to reel a lot but it does the job. |

There are 3 screws holding the frame together, one thumb screw, and one for the grease access plate. The reel is really very simple to get apart. The last screw is behind the spool on the inside of the frame. |
