Hey gang
I am still without power here in NNJ, (Friday am) freakin' ridiculous! Following the big storm here.
So I am looking to install a generator at our house to run the necessities. Apparently it happens more often in my area than I would care it to so I need back up
Please PM me if you know an electrician or outfit that installs generator and transfer switch etc for back up power. I need to get info on the set up and someone to do the work. Anyone with one in their home now , what and how did you do it. Any help would be appreciated. Worse part is I cant charge my trolling batteries!
Thanks
KevinJ

Go with a natural gas back up, only way to go!

Generac makes a nice 7kw unit with an 8 space automatic transfet switch. I have installed a couple of them for near 3k plus whatever it cost to hook up natural gas or propane. I know you can get them at Home Depot around here. I'm sure you could find more info there and they may be able to hook you up with a local electrician to install it. Install is pretty easy depending on where you want it in relation to your electrical service.
