May I ask if anyone has ever used a Daiwa VIP musky rod? I know they retail for $140, and I have heard a many great things about other rods that are around the same price such as TI rods; however, I like the fact that the Daiwa rods have lifetime warranty. Any how, if anyone has ever used one, then please comment on the performance of the rods. Thank you.

I have a VIP rod and like it a lot. I alos have 3 TI rods and they feel much better IMO and are less money. I also have a Thorne Bros predator adn the TI rods out perform them as well and those are $300+ rods. IMO get a TI rod and you will be 10X happier.

Those TI rods are nice- for the price. I have one and I really like it as.-My back up rod. To say that they will ever replace my Predator would be a stretch . There is no comparison. This is not a knock against the TI. Far from it. The fact that I am talking about it in the same thread as a Predator should tell you they are nice.

For the price- the TI is a solid choice.

Thanks for the props on my rods Jerry and guest...

I have a Daiwa VIP musky rod too. Really like it. I have had it for about 8 years and no problems. You might also try an Okuma rod. I have the 9'3" XH and it is very nice.
