| Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. I live in a south west suburb of chicago, in the dekalb area. I know of Shabbona, but i was wondering of some other muskie lakes maybe within an hour and a half or so. I have heard of mallard also, but i heard this lake was something like carry in boats only. is the Fox chain a good muskie area? any help will be great. thanks.

Location: Sycamore, IL | The Illinois DNR has a map on their website, with a list of lakes that have been stocked with muskies....Hope that helps!

| The Fox Chain puts out numbers and size. It's a lot of water to cover so you may want to hire a guide. This summer has been really good.

| Mallard is like 80 acres and carry in only. I took my kayak out there and caught a 32" on a topraider. They stocked it for the first time recently so I doubt there are any muskies over 36-38" yet.

Kinkaid Lake is on fire right now. Multiple fish days with plenty of size. Best muskie lake in the state with plenty of numbers and size.
