| Why did you pick your board name?
Mine came from a conversation with the Late Mr Herbeck (Herbie's Dad).
We were drinking after a tough day on the water and I struck up a conversation with Mr. Herbeck. I think we talked for 2 - 3 hours. During this conversation, he keep saying "Sharp Hooks". Typing it out like this does absolutely no justice to the way he was saying it. So when I needed to pick a name, I remember that conversation and picked those words as my board name. Brings a smile to my face every time I think about it.

| My boats name + it fits my passion for Esox fishing. I love toothy critters.

|
| Not to be confused with "MuskyKid" (someone else who is much younger than me), I picked it because at 56 years old (I'm really 57), I am just a "kid" (fishing for toothycritters for 6-7 years now) compared with a lot of you fellows. However, I've made up for it with my outrageous purchases of rods, lures, etc.
I've got the fever!!!! |
|
| |
|
| Initially I was jm03 which was obviously not very creative and was often getting confused with another jmxx. Then people started calling me Lunch_Box because I was always the poor sap who had to bring lunch as I didn't have a boat. After getting a boat I somewhat appropriately started getting called Chinewalker which turned into Luke_Chinewalker. Stay tuned for the next itteration of the bald and the fishless. |

| pretty dull but, My first Name and Middle Initial and Last Name Initial |

| My board handle, Ballistic, comes from my fascination with hunting rifles, old and new. I use that name in the chat room and on other boards, no secret there.

Actually, I've been Beaver since I was 3 years old. I got that handle because I used to chew on the window cills while I stared out the window. Even back then I yearned to be outside.

| I've floated rivers for almost 45 years. Along with my lake boats I have three jon boats. My wife says, when I go to muskie heaven, shes going to weld two jonboats together for my casket. Hope to see a 50"er before that.[] [:halo:] |

| I picked up PapaJoe as a screenname in the early days of the internet. I had an IBM XT with a 300baud modem in 1986, and posted to a BBS with a bunch of IBM freaks who were also into computers (obviously).
Actually, come to think of it, the first time I was called Papa was at a Grateful Dead show, I already had arthritis at age 19 so I danced like an old man, stiff back and all. So it was Papa Bear for a couple days and then Papa Joe stuck.
(pretty sure it came from the Sports guy on the radio--PapaJoe Tranio)
So I just tell people they call me PapaJoe, out of respect. |

| I will give the more interesting explanation, though it really ISNT the real one.....I have a tendency to run my truck, boat, and baits into heavy immoble objects.
I did have a run in with a gas station and my trailer last spring, the gas pump won.....I will run my boat all the way up on the beach or rocks (no fiberglass in my future!)....dont decelerate too much on the way to the dock.

| Wanted musky on my license plate and MuskyJoe is way to comon.
Got Jomusky and that was six years ago. |

| I got mine from Runnin Hot when I bought the Ranger 519. Notice, I use 2 m's in Commanche, and not 1 m as Ranger does. Copyright/Trademark problems? Eh... |

| When I first "discovered" musky fishing just a few years ago I originally went under the moniker, MuskieVirgin. But, fortunately, that did not last too long. After catching it changed to DocEsox. I was so used to the kids in the military just calling me "Doc" I just added the natural ending for musky fishing.

| Pretty easy as it is what I am all about. I will pull my bait away from sub 40 follows unless I am desparate for a fish wich is almost never.
It also is the beginning of my web site address. [:p] |
|
| |
|
| Just my real name. I figure that I am on a gentelmans board with like people who love to talk about and fish for muskies. No need to hide or cover who I am. I have personly never felt like anyone was beeing snobish or high and mighty because there a top muskie angler or anything like that. This is a great board that has helped me alot in the past year of muskie fishing. (Just had to get my punches in to anyone who feels that they have to go Annon.) For those you are lazy and just don't register, thats fine aslong as there is no board bashing.

| Very simply put it is what I think. Muskies are indeed Number One with me. Also has been my e mail addy since I first went online. Not the only fish I chase, but they certainly are Numero Uno......... |

| Neat Post...
Pretty simple for me.
Oneida, the county in NO. Wisconsin that I live and fish, and Esox, what I live to fish for!
It's kind of funny, I find myself at shows and various events introducing myself as "Oneida Esox" not "John Stellflue"
So it stands to reason that when I decided to take the plunge and start guiding, "Oneida Esox Guide Service" was the name I came up with.
The internet is an amazing thing! God bless.

| All you Deadheads know what it's like to follow a band around for a summer and have hundreds of hours of live music of your band on DAT, tapes, cds, etc ...
Us phish phans are way too uncreative to coin our own phrase so we had to borrow a little ...

| Mine is pretty simple, I stole it off my drivers license. I would have just went with my full name but my ex does not need to type it in and do a yahoo search. |
|
| |
|
| Mine is just to let you think a little. Chemical symbol for water, H 2 O add an S and when most people write my name they only use 1 T in my last name, I have 2Ts = Watters.

|
| Mine is same as my guide serice name. It also fits who I am and how I fish. Always pushing fishing to the limit. Wonder how long my body will let me fish like this. Just a few more casts ok? Lets check just one more spot!! [:p] |

|
| Good post.
Well the first part is easy because it's what I fish.
Pippo, is Phil in Italian and what my friends mostly call me.
The 3rd part is because I don't pull my bait away from any musky because I wouldn't want to be that cocky. [:knockout:]

| My board name says it all,I have had a major string of BAD luck that follows me around like a cloud on some days.I could write a book about my misadventures.I changed my user name earlier this year because of the problems that were happening. My previous board name was "fishingfool".I am still known by it and I kinda copied it from Len Hartman who was "fishin'fool".Plus,I like to fish and my antics/bad luck/screw up every thing I touch and you get the fool part.Good Luck to all,Paul |

| Several places that I have worked have all done the first initial then last name bit for internet email, and accounts. I just got use to it. My other screen name of Lucky came from my years of playing pool. Everyone use to tell me I was the Luckiest SOB in the leagues/tournaments/gambling. It didn't matter to me, because they were the ones racking.[]

| My second passion is volleyball. I only play indoor, so that is why I choose setme31. 31 is a type of set that is only used indoors.
I use setme31 on a muskie board, because I wanted to keep my name the same on every board I visit.
Volleyball season started on Tuesday night. I hurt so bad I can barely type. And I workout 5 days a week! |

| simply put: it's three times the first two letters of my name DIrk VAn NIeuwenhove, hence 'divani'. Darned, why do we have such long names here????
And it's the name I use to sign my baits. YOU try writing your whole name on a bait! [:knockout:] It's fairly recognizable should I later express the wish to start my own tackle company/guide service/website/TV series/ book stores/ brewery/ ... can't blame a guy for dreaming, can you??[;)] [] |

Mine is a nickname formed out of my last name (from way back in high school) that has stuck. Combined with my radio number. (Those of you who know will understand.)
And it's pronounced with long e's. Not The Edz.

| SLAMR-
You are cursed my friend. I cannot beleive you belittled the Champ again. She is not brown or turd colored but a great shade of Burgandy. |

|
| R_H,
I did NOT be-little the Brown, excuse me, Beautiful Burgandy Champion, I simply pointed out that another person had MISTAKEN it for being BROWN, which it is. My boat is silver and blue, and sinks, it sucks, but at least I can tell what color it is.
Slamr
*and yes I am cursed, but I have many more fish in the boat than you this year....so does that mean you just SUCK?! |
|
| |
|
| Hey slamr and todd,
I honestly thought the Champion was brown! I am shocked to hear that thing is actually purple. Hey RH, maybe you should wash that thing more often so everyone can see it's true colors.
Or maybe you should just get a new boat with colors that are not mistakable. Like a RED Ranger, perhaps!

| Twenty years or so ago, I was floating down one of these here WV creeks and ran up on a fellow. It kinda reminded me of a scene from Deliverance. This toothless, unshavend, poor old, dressed in rags, man, looked over at me and said, "Raze 1"? Well, needless to say, that day, those words, kinda stuck in my head, and to me it seems synonymous with musky fishing. |
