Mr. Lane was smart and started out fishing super shallow, which I and many others should have done earlier on that windless day. I just noticed in the photo of a blotch on the muskie's face. Is that the bait or a possibly a terminal sore? The potential for a BIG muskie out of Pelican is enough for me to make another jaunt over next weekend, even though the Metro lakes of Minneapolis seem to be coughing up numerours 52"+ fish. The Wisconsin BIG & BRONZE has been my goal for 35+ years, and there is not much better of a location "to my knowledge" to make that dream come true. I also truely enjoy the folks, food, and a Rhinelander Shorty or two at Lakeview.
