| I dont own an ETEC, but wondering if you have a fuel/water separator on your gas line. I know several people who had injector problems (not Etecs) and it was caused from not having a fuel water separator due to all the water, etc in the today's gas.
If you do have one try running sea foam in every tank of gas, once you get your injectors fixed of course. |

Location: United States | I have an 2008 150 hp and just had one go bad at 60 hours. No word on the reason but BRP covered it despite the motor being out of warranty which was awesome. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Anyone have the spark plugs go bad after 150 hours? I was told that was really good and should change them a lot sooner than that. Why do they say no scheduled maintenance for 3000 hours? |

Its 300 not 3000 hours. First interval maintenance at 300 hours. My injectors,2006 200hp ETEC, went out post warranty with no warnings/symptoms nor reason/cause offered by the techs at Water Werks in the Chicagoland area. Never a problem with plugs even when the injectors went out.

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | 3000 hours???? The power heads (on the big ones) have been letting loose in the 600 hr range from the reports I'm hearing.
I think they said 3 years and most people put about 20 hours a year on their motors. |

| Never had an issue and I put at least a 100 hours on my 225 HO each season. I had my 300 hr service last winter and the spark plugs were fine. I changed them anyway and have no concerns going another 300 hours before I change them again. |

Location: ladysmith, wi | had a 2005 225ho etec, in 2008 had all the injects replaced, was told the spray pattern was wrong, then in fall of 2010 had another injector go bad it was the #5 injector which i was told is always the first one to go, had it fixed ($1000) , got sick of worry if more injectors were to follow, sold it. when i bought boat was very excitied about the etec if i had to do all over again would not get a etec |

Location: musky waters , WI | I had a 08 etec 150 ho that was bought new put maybe 4 hrs on the motor and blew 3 cylinders out. They fixed that and at about 50 hrs had to put new plugs in motor as they were shot. Wont buy another etec agian .gona stick with. Mercury number 1 on the water. Just my 2 cents.
