| Anybody try the Church TX-44 boards for musky tackle? It is designed for copper/lead wire and dipsy divers or lures with a lot of pull. Would seem to be a great candidate for musky cranks or even bulldawgs / heavy rubber? |

Location: Angola, IN | This is an old thread from the dead........but I'm bringing it back to life.
I've "tried" to pull the trigger on a set of these TX-44 boards, but I hesitate because a set will cost you $80, and a few guys I've talked to, their friends hated them (second hand knowledge).
I run the Walleye boards now, but they are just too small for bigger and harder pulling baits: with bucktails and anything over 6" crankbaits, walleye boards are basically behind the boat. I'm looking for an in-line boards that will handle big double 10's and double 12's.....and larger crankbaits.
Does anyone have any first-hand experience with these TX-44 boards? |

| I do...Love them. Get the Lock Jaw Snaps too. What's anouther $20.00?  I have used them for baits up to 12 inches and they have been champs. |

Location: Eastern Ontario | I have 44's and the walleye's I prefer the walleye's. I pull 10 inch Jakes and Believers doesn't matter if it's behind the boat as long as your getting spread. Never saw a trolled bait that wasn't behind the boat. |

Jake's don't pull that hard. Believers not bad.
But when you're pulling those baits AND 4-8 oz. of lead, walleye boards aren't going to work. I've tried it many times.
Where I fish, running 6-8 oz. of lead and a big double bladed bucktail is VERY common. If I ran this set up with a walleye board, the bait would be directly behind the boat....just like a down rod.
I'm looking for spread. I also would like to be able to get my outside baits away from the boat WITHOUT having to run 300' of line between the boat and the board. |

| I know someone who has trolled 10's with T-44s and some weight and they worked fine. I have used them with spinnerbaits that had 2 inline 10 blades and 4 oz of weight and they were also fine. 100 feet of line from the clip gives you plenty of spread. I would estimate they were about 60-70 feet from the boat with 100 feet out. Definitely get the lockjaws. |

| The 44 boards are great. I also use the walleye boards and moved the weight as far forward on the board as possible having to drill a new hole. And I pull 9 " grandmas with them and I think they do just fine |
