Location: Eden Prairie & Pine Island | Anyone make or experiment with making crankbaits with fish shaped tails? I don't mean the jointed swim bait versions, just a straight crank/minnow bait with a lip on the front and a rubber or other tail more in the shape of a fish's tail (not a grub tail). Ideas, pictures, problems, tips, anyone? |

Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | Well, the Shallow Invader comes to mind...
There are lots of 'rubber duckies' that are almost entirely soft plastic, though; the Swimmin' Joe, the Storm Kickin' Minnow, etc. |

| Dunrite made some rubbery crankbaits , a pikie one that I liked. also some bait fish models. I think it made of the rubber X stuff.

| Trueglide makes a really cool 10" one. I'll post a picture of mine when I get a chance .I've caught a lot of really nice fish on it,so it's kind of beat- in a good way  |

Location: Eden Prairie & Pine Island | Thinking more like Gus' suggestion of a Shallow Invader...a hard crankbait with a soft tail shaped like a fish's tail. Seems the tail has to be plilable enough not to take much away from the action of the crankbait, but yet hold up to the abuse. maybe this is just not that complicated. |
