I will be up there with a group of 10 guys from October 13th through the 16th. Would love to hear any helpful information that anyone can provide. We fished it last year, but the bite was slow. We got a couple, but those and maybe one or two others were the only fish that we seen on the trip. Good luck in the tournament

Water temps are now hovering around 59-60. The water is starting to turn green all over the lake. Here are a few of the big girls we got. Hope everyone has a great time on the lake for the tourney and fall trips.

Nice ones! One thing for sure, most muskies from this lake are all well fed...no scrawny ones, unless they are unhealthy. Nice tiger!!! Can't wait..3 more days! I agree, let's hear the details....

The details are this was the best trip we have had, hit it perfect for the feeding window...We saw tons of deer, loons, eagles, otters, and beavers. Didn't see too many sunsets as it was cloudy and rainy almost all week except two days or so. The leaves were pretty much all green on the way up and now they are turning wonderful colors. The people and food was great at all the usual stopping spots. There was one skinny one caught and it had a bad eye but was still a good catch.
The first day we fished pike with spinnerbaits had a nice fish fry. Went out the next day and fished all morning without anything but some small pike. Went in to get some great grub went back and and nailed 3 (2 46" and a 45"') in 30mins all within 50 yards of each other, We said that our week was already taken care of as that was my brothers and my dad's personal bests. Next day got 41 1/2 fishing for pike on a spinnerbait. Next day got a 46" on a spoon my dad made a mistake holding the fish and a tooth got a very deep cut on his thumb went hayward to get it cleaned up and when me and him got back found out that my brother and his buddy landed two more a 45"(buddy's first musky ever) and a low 30's(didn't measure). Next day hit a 39.5 for my buddy first spot in the morning then fished pike the rest of the day and ate good again. Next day didn't get a sniff from much but the pike and they were all nice ones had 4 over 30". The next day got my personal best the 48" pictured above with the blue shirt on(best part is it was on the second cast after a boat pulled in and cut me off I had never been happier that someone cut me off!!!!) The old man got a low 30" tiger that we didn't measure again. Next day first spot hit a mid 30". Finished up the trip with another mid 30" and a 38". It was nothing short of fantastic considering how hard a trip we had here last year. The weeds this year were not as thick as they have been in the past but that wasn't all that bad. Overall it was just great being in the northwoods not working or answering the phone!!! Back to work we all go putting in my time till next year!!

Any reports from this past weekend at the Hayward lakes tourney? Looks like a few fish caught on a wide variety of baits. Im wondering what type of structure they were on. Ill be up there this weekend for a few days with some big juicy suckers and can post a report if anyone is interested. Curious to see what this little warm streak does to the fishing.

Looks like quite a few fish out of Nammy. I'm guessing the warm weather will make it an evening/night bite but that wouldn't stop me from fishing all day if I could get out.

Yeah I saw that there was quite a few over 40 as well. Great to see.

Ill be going after them all day long and Ill likely just fish the classic structures adjacent to deep water. If nothing going during the day I'll prob try after dark for a little bit one night.

Its nice this time of year when you fish after dark for a while you can still get back home at a decent hour.

TopWaterTuffy, after spending 3 days trolling for suspended fish and getting SKUNKED, I can tell you where the fish are not...I would not fish any deeper than 10ft. Everyone we talked to caught their fish either in or directly off the weedlines. The weeds seemed to be really green and more like an August pattern than October, at least our opinion. Congratulations to Brian for his top 10 finish! Sure glad we did'nt have to fish in Thursdays weather, almost too nice on Sat & Sun...

Spent 2 days on the lake over the weekend. Water temps dropped from 58 degrees to 51 degrees from Friday to Sunday. Tough bite, but located fish in the 15 - 18 foot range off of structure. Points were the best. Had several grabs, but only boated one 41" fish. Group had a few misses and a mid 30s northern. Very windy over the weekend.

Pastikas had them with a 5 per group limit. I hauled them up with me from Milwaukee. Wanted to use bigger suckers and my buddies that were already up there said they couldn't find any.
