| I've seen a couple posts here, but from last winter, when this unit was relatively new.
I've been reading some extreme reviews, both pro and con from Cabelas, and Bass Pro, and wonder if anyone has or knows of this unit. I'm thinking about getting this unit for my boat, and would like to make a decent choice. I appreciate all your input. Thanks |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I have a buddy who has this unit and have seen it and used it a little. I run HDS's but have the DownScan feature just like this unit and I will say, the DownScan image is better than sonar. When I say better, I mean like being able to tell if that's a fish on the bottom or baitfish holding tight to bottom that with regular sonar you can't tell. The DownScan image separates things a lot better than traditional sonar and really puts structure in better perspective than sonar. After having the StructureScan and DownScan with my HDS units the past two seasons, I wouldn't be caught dead without them anymore, the abilities these new units have are unbelievable if you take the time to get to know how to use them.
For the money, this is a great buy. |

| Be sure you look at Hummingbird. I run both and believe the Bird is the better unit for a little less money. I believe you will get more out of the Bird.

Which unit are you comparing here? If your talking the 570 DI, then yeah, it is considerably cheaper, but it's not a color unit. |

Do you run a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI? That was the question. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Comparable Bird is 597ci HD DI. Both 5" color with GPS. Bird is 640x640 vs 480x480 and the Bird also still will show standard 2d picture where the Lowrance is only DI. |
