I continue have hang ups with my glide bits, phantoms, etc - hangoing up on my leader when I jerk/twitch.
I don't think I twitch to hard - in fact it doesn't seem to matter how suttle I work them. Is it me? Is it the wrong leader? Seems to happen with long or short, flouro or wire. On advice appreciated!

Wire - Soft or stranded?
Gliders require a stiff solid wire leader and are typically 10" or so. You may also want to remove the snap and use just a split ring. Also on a dedicated glide bait rod I'll have the leader directly tied on, no swivel.

Could be that you need a stiff wire. I use 49 strand, used to use solid. I will also suggest that you might be tapping to hard or more likely that after you tap you bring the rod back to fast and there is a little to much slack and the bait glides over the top of the leader and hangs up. As mentioned snaps on the pause can allow slack line (forces leader down then bait glides over leader) can be a problem once in a while.

I like to double split ring my belly hook (like a chain) to drop the hook and rotate it and depending how I work the bait I can hang up once and a while if I hook to a split ring along with a snap. Then I just hook the snap to the eye instead of the ring. That is the to much slack thing. Glide baits are all a little different so what works for one will not always work for the next one. Once you figure out the technique that works for you they can be a very good fish catcher.

Stealth Tackle makes an excellent WTD (walk the dog) jerkbait leader like this. Solid wire leader (174#) with no swivel. Might be worth a look if you continue to have issues.
