| Got a slight problem here need help.
I lost a bearing buddy on the trailer. I don't have the original dust cap so I can't follow the directions on the web site on how to size a new bearing buddy. I do however have the other side of the trailer with a bearing buddy.. do I just measure the outer diameter of the others bearing buddy? Do I measure the inner diameter and add so many .000"
So confused.. help me out please. |

Location: Sun Prairie, WI | I believe you need to measure the inner diameter of the hub. I think most of them are 1.98 inches if my memory serves me right. U could just use a soft mallet (rubber, plastic dead blow) to knock the other one off and measure that one. |

Location: Aurora IL | 1.98 are the standard size and are used on almost all fishing boat trailers. unless you have a very small boat or a 25 footer i would go ahead and buy the 2 inchers. taking off your buddies more than you have to for yearly maintenance can loosen them and you could lose the other side next. Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya,
I found that after 5 years with one set of buddies, I had to replace them due to not being tight in the hub anymore.... Bought a new set, fit nice and tight again, and have been good to go since.
cheap replacement after they start to get loose...
