| Ok, so here is the deal. I have not even put a muskie lure in the water for the last 4 years and now I will finally be able to go and chase some fish North of Grand Rapids MN the week after labor Day! So now that I am able to do this I am getting prepared and am starting to realize that I don't have a clue where I need to start on some of these lakes. Right now I am thinking of staying on smaller lakes due to the size of my boat, but should I be looking for weeds, rock, top water, shallow, deep, morning, evening, night, or even what lake to start with... long story short, I could use a little help. If any one would be willing to share with me any info I will be doing STRICTLY cpr and keeping my lips sealed about where I am at. Just 1 guy making a week trip to Northern MN | |

| hey, there is usually a good shallow movement as the water starts cooling down. bucktails and topwaters on shallow sand/inside weededges are the first thing i'd do wherever i was fishing that time of the year. check a couple likely spots, if fish are shallow like that it shouldn't take you too long to see them. shallow rock would be worth a check too.
move deeper if you don't see any action but keep them honest up shallow from time to time. nightfishing is always a valid option, and i'm still bouncing between shallow and deep spots in the dark. good luck | |
