Want to repower my boat and cant decide between 60 HP e-tech or 60HP Merc 4 stroke both available from same dealer and roughly the same cost.

Dealer says etech has less maintenance and will troll slower than 4 stroke because rpm's on 4 stroke have to be kept up to maintaine oil pressure.

I would have thought the 4 stroke would have been the better troller.

Opinions please

What do you have on there now? People often forget that controls are a hidden cost to an engine install. If you already have Merc or Rude controls that may help you decide. Is this tiller or console?

Consol would get new controlls in any case selling old controls with old 50 merc 2 stroke

The Merc four stroke trolls down really well. I have had both the 40 and the 50, and both are great engines. I've sold a bunch of 60 merc four strokes, and they are stellar engines.

That said, if you want a two stroke, the Bombardier is your only option in a 60.
