| Personally, I think it looks like milfoil, but the picture is weak and you can't see much detail. Pull up some of it, take close-ups, and check it out on the web. Lots of good images and descriptions of milfoil and coontail through Google. |

Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | Looks like Milfoil but I believe it is North American Milfoil and not Euroasian Mifoil. North American is native in many of our lakes but not all of them by any means and is still considered "invasive" in some areas I believe. |

Location: Mayville, WI | Milfoil for sure, most likely EWM (can't tell w/o looking at the leaflets). What lake is this? If it's in WI, you can search on the WI DNR's webiste which lakes have EWM.
There is no "north american milfoil". There is northern water-milfoil and about 7 other native varieties within WI. EWM's growth pattern has more "arms" that come off the plant while northern's has fewer arms is is typically more tubular. Also, EWM has a reddish tint to it at the tip while northern is light/lime green (these are all generalities - you need to count the leaflets to tell for sure). It gets more confusing when you include hybrids.
