Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We will be on the way up to Sprig Bay Resort Saturday, looking for a relaxing week of superb hospitality from the Spring Bay Crew.
I'll be chasing bass, pike, eyes, and gills in an attempt to feed a few folks at the OFM cabin fish fries, and looking for a muskie or two as well.
Can't wait.... |

| Steve, it will be interesting to see how your panfish outings go. So many of the locals are complaining because they cannot find them because there are no weeds in areas of the lake where they used to be thick.
Those Rusty crayfish are insane in that lake right now. My boys had a blast netting them for a crayfish feed one night last weekend. |

I have the Aqua-Vu Micro along, we'll find the panfish for sure. I saw your video about that earlier, that looks like the cats ass!!
Try getting a musky on there. There is one fish that has been giving me fits the last two years out there. Won't hit, but sure likes to follow. Its by those two islands. LOL |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The welcome and mapping party was great, and near everyone stayed on eating pizza and enjoying a drink or a soda until it was almost dark, thanks to Spring Bay Resort's hospitality. Most hit the water for awhile, and a few fish were moved. I had a tanker try to eat a Weagle on the eight, but the lure was fouled with weeds and when her nose touched those weeds...snap shut went the yap, and off she want. maybe tomorrow...this was the same spot Thomas and TJ boated the big girl last year.

The dockside by Steve Amundson was extremely informative, and thanks to OFM sponsors and Spring Bay Resort, everyone won a prize.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Monday was a tough day to put a muskie in the boat until after dark. I talked to several of the anglers and they moved fish, but no takers. We have some images to post from last night, at least, that's the rumor! Today looks good with a little front moving through. Jerome and TJ already put this one in the net; I'm working at least 3/4 days while here and don't get out until afternoon. We got into the Largemouth yesterday tossing whacky worms at the docks for an hour, that was a blast. Fish fry at the OFM Cabin tonight, bluegills, bass, pike, and venison on the menu!

Eric Olson and Rick Seeger put this 50.5" pig in the net on a bait they won during the dockside demos. Steve and I talked about using the Llungen Krisco on the Big V, and...it worked! They said there's little chance they would have used the bait if it hadn't been mentioned and offered as a dockside prize last year and this year.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | 46" this morning on topwater, and a 39" Pike this afternoon. Jerome and TJ scored a 38 this evening after the awards ceremony, good chance there will be more.
Tom Trecker took the top award with his 54.25 personal best muskie, winning a trip next year to Spring Bay Resort. He also received a custom made MuskieFIRST hoodie. The banquet was a GREAT fish fry in front of the resort, and was a total blast! Kim (last year's big fish winner) made a cool blanket that was awarded as a drawing prize, and Frabill donated a muskie net, a Spring Bay hoodie, and another custom MuskieFIRST hoodie rounded out the prizes for the night. Everyone who attended received at least one drawing prize, and some did even better!
Spring Bay again went above and beyond all expectations, and a very happy crew is heading home tomorrow morning from a memorable trip to the Big V. Thanks to the Spring Bay crew for outstanding hospitality.
We'll begin planning the Fall Outing in the next week.

| Could you line all the pictures and fish up with sizes and names? You guys really hit them a lick this time, but I can't always connect who caught what and which is which size. One of those is a 54 incher I know.
I know that Sworrall was the guy with the fish UNDER 50", but caught more than the rest of them, but beyond that?... |

This year the solunar tables showed the week of the outing would be one of the best weeks all season.
From the results I'd say the tables were right on the money.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Guest, I wasn't up there on vacation... and Jay was kidding; he's very good at that despite only having two nuts on his wheel some days. I did fish bass some and did really well, and bluegills for about an hour and a half for the OFM cabin fish fry. And the fish all was gone about as fast as I could cook and serve.
If one has to work, working out of a beautiful cabin at Spring Bay where when the day's activities are over one can walk to the water and fish for world class Pike, Muskies, and Bass and get all the frying pan fish one wants isn't a bad deal. |

| The trip is in the books, hope everyone made it home safe. A huge thanks to Steve W. for keeping all of the pictures posted, and thanks to Eric O for putting up with me for a week and letting me net his personal best fish one night. Thanks to Steve A. and the Spring Bay staff for being great hosts! Folks if you can make this trip in 2012 - do it! Great accommodations for the price. Potential world class fishing, but you will have to work hard to find fish that want to eat. Hope to be back! |

| this was a phenominal outing. many fish were tight lipped and yes Slushy is correct, it was a lot of hours and work to find ones that would show some teeth. Thankfully I was lucky enouph and blessed to end up with the three fish that I did. thought the #s in the boat would be more for everybody there, but I obviously cant complain about three fish topped out another personal best at 54 .25! sick thing is we chased several fish during the day that easily topped this fish -I mean high fiddies ...right G-rome?! Everyone is right on about Spring Bay. They know how to run a camp better than any other I've ever been to. If you're even tossing it around about joining in on this fantastic outing, I would highly recomend you jump on it!! Thankyou again to both Steve A. (and of course misses A.) and Steve W. for putting on such a class A trip! (topped with two stellar dinners to boot) My last fish (47) was on a topwater 'loaned' by the resort owner himself, his best bait! I prefferred at least a color he wasn't so fond of but he insisted I try his favorite color witch he only had two left of! well it paid off and I returned it to him in tact! shewww! one time I thought surely I was swimming for it across a couple of narly rocks! this trip and resort is tough to beat! Only wish I could have gotten to hang with all the good doods (and gals) that participated, but no-one else seemed to be hanging out at 3 in the a.m.! Fish were deffinately more willing to show teeth late night and early morn. !! First time staying on west end, was as good or better than east end in many ways! Oh and thanks flambeauski for the' grats'. still hope to get to fish with you on old Nammy! Tom T
