| What gear in the past have you bought because you thought your needed it? Latter on you realized it was just a passing Muskie fad?
One thing that comes to mind is the muskie cradle. Although I think the idea behind it was great, it made it very difficult to land the fish. I remember when everyone had one. Now your hardly see them in our area.
What about other fads?

| At the risk of hanging meself, I'd say the "Spongebob" T-shirt! Peeps may go out + purchase them after seeing Beavs nice fish...then they go out expecting to rival or exceed that fish + if it doesn't happen, then I get the blame, even though I had nothing to do w/ it what so ever! I remember years ago when the "rabbits foot" craze came about...peeps were trapping rabbits, removing all 4 feet + leaving them to stumble through the woods on nubs; eventually this trait became a genetic normality + today there are no "lucky rabbit feet"...the rabbits HAVE no feet from which to gather them! The "Bunny Hop", once a popular dance, no longer has the same meaning...as you can easily see, one must be careful about indulging in fads + use extreme caution if sucked in.[:0] |

That would go double for the people who wear the chicken foot as a necklace? I could imagine if that fad really took off, Hooters would be in trouble as to the availablity of their chicken meals...[:0]

| Good question. I don't knbow that they are fads so much as they are phases. Gliders are big right now but they require some skill and patience to work. They are great baits but lets see how many there are in a few years as people opt for easier to use lures.. They have been popular in europe for some time but most european gliders are much smaller than ours. |

| Actually Rob that might be beneficial...a lack of chicken footage would make them easier to catch, thus insuring an easy supply of wings for the multitudes! They already got wings + can't fly, so why not take their feet too? [:0] |

| I fell for one of those Frabill nets with the open end when they first came out. If Pete Maina uses them they must be good, right? The net took up half of the boat. I quit using it for a couple years and used it again this year. After having a fish in it, I thought it was great. Now it's become my primary net again. |

| I'd say that damm sponge bob shirt, it worked the first 2 times but struck out the third time.I'll see how the 4th time works.Let you all know for sure Sunday night .
