| Definitely go with the 36 x 38. I have the 30 x 32 (I have a small boat so I thought I would go with the smaller net) and 40 inchers in this net is a stretch. The problem with the 30 x 32 is not really the hoop size, but the shallow depth of the bag. I am thinking about getting a 36 x 38 replacement bag (which is 48" deep) and putting it on my 30 x 32 (which currently has a 36 inch deep bag). Does anyone have any experience with placing a larger bag on a smaller hoop sized net frame? I assuming it would work, but wasn't sure if bunching up on the frame would be an issue. |

| Great thread I was going to ask the same question! Hoping I would be able to "get away" with the smaller 94IM net in my small boat.
Doesn't sound like its ideal for 40+ inch fish? |

To me, there is nothing worse than seeing a muskie "curled up" in a small net, which is why I am looking for a solution for my smaller net. I am hoping by adding a larger bag will do the trick (and still allow me me have the smaller net for storage). I'll let you know how my experiment goes. |

| I'm mostly near 40 inch fish with the odd 50+ thats why I was wondering about the 94 as its smaller and cheaper (the 116 is HUGE!). Sounds like bigger is better in this case? |

| Well, the 94IM will do the job (as I said, it is what I am using), but you will soon find out, working with larger fish in the net is not the easiest task. If the extra size of the 116IM is prohibited, then I would get the 94IM, but if you could just squeeze in that extra 2 inches in width and 5 inches in length into the boat, I would highly recommend it and I think after your first fish, you will be glad you got the larger size. |
