Location: Brainerd,MN | Heading to Vilas/Oneida (Minocqua) tomorrow for a little vacation with the family. Plan to muskie fish a little too. A couple questions.
I know about the no trolling in Oneida and Vilas Counties. Question is, just to be clear so I don't get in trouble, can I cast lures onto structure while moving the boat with the bow mount or do I have to cast a few times, move, and then continue casting?
I'm bringing my Tuffy 1890 and the lakes are smaller there, compared to here in MN, of course. Any class A muskie lakes in the Minoqua/St Germain area that I might want to cross off the list where landing the big Tuffy night be an issue to get off the trailer?
Thanks in advance.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You can use the electric with no worries to move the boat along and cast and reel at the same time. Most of the landings in the area are fine for your boat. |

Location: Brainerd,MN | Thanks Steve.
After scouting around online and reading the WI regs it seemed there was a ton of confusion everywhere I checked out on what was trolling and not trolling. Just wanted to make sure.
Thanks again.

Location: minocqua, wi. | you'll be able to put that in lots of places. nice lakes around the area katherine, brandy, johnson that are right close to town. don't be at all worried about the chain ... it's a fantastic fishery. focus on the weed points, humps (clumbs bar and island point), fisher island point ... a weed point coming out of the two green boat-houses ... on the main there is a bar coming out of the section by the beacons ...
also, lake tom is a great spot with fantastic structure throughout ...
also ... it you want to troll you can always go to the rainbow flowage ... lots of water in it from years past. watch out for deadheads and don't go all over the place on plane though!!
have a gas and enjoy!! |
