Looking for someone to give me an idea or point me in the direction to find out what prop size to start out with for my boat im putting together..Normally dont have alot of weight in the boat and usually two people at a time.Looking for aluminum and ss prop suggestions.Motor will be here in a few weeks.Thanks..

2003 G3 Angler 165, 16'5"length,70"beam,appx weight 800lbs.
2011 Yamaha F40 EFI Tiller,power trim/tilt.

Hiya

I would say you are looking at something like 11-1/2 x 13, assuming your lower unit is a 2:1 ratio. If the ratio is around 2.33:1, then I would say you could bump up to a 15 pitch.

If my spec sheet on the motor is current with the 2011 model i have it says gear ratio is 13:26 (2.00)
