| I just purchased a 7year old mercury 9.9 4 stroke and and before I purchased it we put on the hose with the clamp on the water input. pulled it about three times and it started right up with the choke pulled out. after a minute or so I put the choke in and seemed perfect. Put in in forward and reverse with no problem. Thought all was ok But when I put it on the lake it would shake and lose power at high speed, If I started to pull the choke out a little it seemed to get a higher RPM. but was still not right coughing and shaking but running.... as soon as I went to a lower speed like half throttle or less it seemed to be better...But when I open it up not smooth at all/.....I removed the carb and disassembled it and cleaned it all out thinking and hoping that was the problem....It was not fixed.... It did the same thing today Any help would be appreciated...........Fuel filter was also ok Thanks Sr. | |
