| Howdy,
I have a lot of 8 new, in box, Trinidad 14 Gold reels (older versions) that have never been used. I am toying with the idea of selling them as I do not know if I will be able to use them (personal reasons-long story). My question is:
What Are They Worth?
I have considered selling them online (here for example) but don't know their market value, particularly if they are still brand new. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Finally, now matter how tempting it is to do so, please try to resist the urge to say "nothing, but I'll take them off your hands for a pop and a bad of chips" :-)!
Take care,

Location: Des Moines IA | There are two New in the Box New Shimano Trinidad 14 TN-14 on ebay right now. Listed at 335$, and 339 $ respectively. I would say keep checking ebay, find one up for auction, and watch it to see what it sells for. I searched the last two years of buy sell trade on here, used ones averaged 225-265 $.

| Howdy,
Thanks for the quick reply. I would need to get what I paid for them last fall ($300.00 ea) to justify the sale, otherwise I feel like I would be throwing good money after bad. Like the guy who jumped on a cactus naked said- "It seemed like a good idea at the time" (Magnificent Seven for movie buffs) but I'm thinking I may have been better off with some 700b Calcuttas.
I have never sold things online before, other than a boat, and am unsure of how long it would take to move all of them before the end of the season. I would probably do it here since EBay seems like a pain but I am not sure if that is realistic. I'm also not sure if my price expectations are realistic either, particularly since I really don't want to be struck with any leftovers that don't sell or take a loss on them.
Im certainly open to suggestions.
Take care,

Location: Des Moines IA | If I had to guess,
A. you won't get 300$ a piece out of them here. Better chance on ebay
B. getting rid of 8 of them is going to be difficult anywhere you try
I'm thinking you're going to be stuck with them, unless you are flexible on your price because most guys are buying the new NA version with cast control now. Either way, good luck |

Location: In a shack in the woods | I'm sure someone here can verify but they sold for around $260 a couple months ago at cabelas after the new model was launched. I'm not sure you'll be able to get $300 out of them |

| It looks like you will loose money on them if you choose to sell them. Reels do not go up in value so IMHO the longer you keep them the more moeny you will probably loose on them. If I had them I would sell them now at a little loss than a couple years from now at a big loss. |

| even if you sell them for $300 on ebay your fees will be around $50 to $65 if not more depending on your account. |

| Howdy,
Thanks for the input. I'll definitely consider lowering the price if I decide to sell them. While I would like to get what I paid for them (who wouldn't), especially if I am going to be stuck with the possibility of leftovers, I would probably be willing to lower the price by $50 a reel if it meant I could sell the whole lot at once. While it would be a loss (and a lesson learned) I would be able to take one headache off my plate. Going to have to do a bit more research on how this all works since I never sold something like this. Thanks again for all the insights and suggestions.
Take care,

| maybe try a saltwater fishing website? Muskie fishing is a relatively small market to find someone who'd be willing to buy 8 used $250-$300 trinidads, that have been replaced by a newer and better version, all at one time. Obviously e-bay will reach all markets, for those who are out there looking, but the fees may make it less worth while. Good luck either way.
