Two questions:

#1
If you could only choose one lure for a weekend trip what would it be and why? Only one!

#2 What lure that is no longer made or (tough to find) should be brought back....tough question for us young guys.

My Answers....

#1 - Black and silver bucktail hands down what can't you do with this bait? troll it, roll it, twitch it, jig it, burn it, set it!

#2 I think you can still find them but as a kid nothing was better than a strip-on set up.

Yikes - one bait?

I would have to say a 7" Slammer crank bait - perch color. You can twitch it, troll it, pop it on the surface and straight retrieve it - fast or slow. You can work it fast to find fish and you can finesse it on the days when the fish are less active but you know where they are. Popping on the surface can be deadly. Give the bait a pop, just as it is about to touch the surface - pop it again and make a sploosh. Once you locate a big fish, this is a great tactic especially in the witching hour!

I would like to see the complete line of Frenchy Lemay's LeLures come back. When they came back out, they were a hot ticket item and now they are hard to come by. Great baits!

The weekend bait would be a mid-sized spinnerbait - black tail (double w/ single hooks) with tandem orange blades. Cast it or troll it,

The vintage bait would be a Hi Fin Fathom. This is a bait that was designed to be an improvement of the Hartman Bug (and was). Super deep diver with an awesome action, but discontinued shortly after the controversy surrounding the Lawton and Hartman fish blew open.

Steve Good Question

1) White Grim Reaper Spinnerbait 1 oz
this bait slow trolls, slow rolls and burns very good and is a fish catching machine
2) Wiley Jerkbait
Dale doesn't have time to make these as he is so busy with his crankbaits but they catch fish, works a lot like a Suick. He still makes me one here and there.
