| Is there anyone out there that knows the skinny on weed killing? Some of my local waters and one that I USED to enjoy to the East are being destroyed by weed killing activities. What are "they" allowed to do and what can we do about it? How often can they do this? Do they need local permits to do this?
Frustrating [:((] |

| Contact the Lake Associations for these lakes. Weed killing decisions should be made by the association. Yes, permits are required. Also, if the weed killing activities are having an adverse effect on the lake then contact the DNR straight away. |

Hey if you can't target just the millfoil and figure out a way to just kill them, then don't f with it![:(] |

| Luke , Todd;
Several years ago I was living in Waconia ,Mn .Lake Waconia was occasionally being bombed with weed killers to
get rid of Eurasian Milfoil .It didn't seem to do any good,
as the next year it was usually still there,albeit less.
The Minnesota DNR then published articles about a water
beetle that targeted Eurasian Milfoil.
I wonder what ever happened to the beetle theory?

| Dennis, I am not sure what lake or lakes but wisconsin is doing a weevil study. There is supposed to be rusticus crayfish down here too. I don't think they are in the densities as they are in some lakes up north but I wish they'd get to chomping! Grass carp don't work either. There is a lake in dupage co they stocked them to control the weeds. It matts all the way across now. |
