| Folks,
Due to the government shutdown my girlfriend's family is scrambling to find a substitute location for their summer vacation next week. I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a resort in the Walker/Longville/Park Rapids area that is family friendly and reasonably priced? I'd prefer it to have muskies in it, but I can always trailer to another lake.
Thanks for any advice!

| Check out the resorts on Big Mantrap. I've never stayed at them, but it's a good musky lake and beautiful.

Mantrap Lodge: http://www.mantraplodge.com/front/index.aspx
Big Mantrap Lake, Park Rapids MN: family oriented resort on a nice muskie lake
Belle Shores: http://belleshoresresort.com/
Lake Belle Taine, Nevis MN: family oriented resort; no muskies but it's only 15 minutes from Leech, 10 minutes to Big Mantrap, 35 minutes to Bemidji, 35 minutes to Detroit Lakes
North Beach: http://northbeachresort.com/
Potato Lake, Park Rapids MN: cabins or condo resort, no muskies but 10 minutes to Mantrap, 30 minutes to Leech, 40 minutes to Bemidji, 30 minutes to Detroit Lakes
all 3 lakes have really nice, clean water for swimming/skiing, etc.
Mantrap is more isolated, quieter lake but also farther from town where Potato and Belle Taine are both close to either Nevis/Dorset/Park Rapids shopping.

| Been fishing Belle Taine for over 15 yrs - there are no muskies in that lake but the bass fishing has been great. Pine Beach Resort is a top-notch choice for a week with the family. | |
