Anyone fishing out of one of these boats? How is the rear deck for casting, seems a little narrow? That was my wife's main concern, other than that we really like the layout of the boat.

The Skeeter seems to be a fine boat, but that back deck design seems a little goofy. I bought a Ranger 1850RS last fall to primarily fish muskies out of but double as the family tubing, kneeboarding, etc. boat. I love it. The back deck is huge. It does not have a traditional full-length splashwell, but the guy casting from the rear has tons of space. Plus, my family has found that the Ranger's rear deck design without the full length splashwell is very kid-friendly for jumping off of, swimming, and getting back in the boat. This type of design might not work well for backtrolling or really big water, but I have never had water come over the back of this boat and a full-length splashwell has not been missed on this boat. The downside of the Ranger 1850 is the 7 foot rod storage. Other than that, if you are looking at the Skeeter wx1850 and are concerned about the deck, do yourself a favor and at least look at the Ranger Reata 1850RS.

I'm on my second season in an 2010 wx 1850 and I love it! 75% of my fishing is for walleye but for big water muskie its great. The back deck is a little narrow but i've had no complaints. I've been thinking about a Justencase box for adding some width to the back deck and would then have an excuse to buy more baits. I really like the storage and I can get a big Lakewood box under each console.

Well, we decided to get the boat. Going to get it saturday. Glad to hear about fitting the tackle box under the console, that it what I was planning to do. If the back deck is a little too narrow for the wife, I will make some kind of extension for her. Might have to check out one of those Justencase boxes too. Thanks. troy

I was working for Skeeter as a Rep in 10 states when the original 1850 was released. I sure liked the two I had. Nice ride!

Took it out this morning for while. Hate to sound like everyone else, but,WOW, what a difference from my not so old tin boat. The ride, stability, storage are great, and no more feeling like a beach ball blowing around out on the water.
