so since im looking at the probable outcome of ending up with an HDS unit, from anyones standpoint of using the older sonar gps combos,
and they are now using the HDS systems,
what are your thoughts, likes, dislikes, ect.

Ive gone thru and dabbled with a buddies lcx 27c hds model, and I didnt grasp
the concept of how they have some of the menus or windows set up.

correct me if Im wrong, but I was told that you cant plug in your old chip that has data saved on it into a new model. waypoints or icons arent transferable?
is this correct?

Id love some insight into if this operating system is liked over the old one.

thanks for the info.

The 27 is not an HDS, having run both I love my HDS unit, only dislike is no icons only waypoints. All info is transferable beteween any lowrance/eagle units as far as I know. Took a little time to get to know the new unit of course, same as anything else new and improved.

The HDS I would highly recommend them. I have two of them plus the strucuture scan and couldn't be happier with them. If your used to the lowrance format, it wouldn't take you long to get used to the HDS's.
