Location: Grand Rapids, MI | I have a '94 Mercury 115. If I have the engine all the way down, it shakes and runs really rough. Idle or wide open. If I'm trolling, I raise the motor up a little ways, and it runs much smoother. Same thing during takeoff. When I floor it from a dead standstill, I start with it all the way down, and trim it up just before I'm planed out. Any ideas? |

| My guess is that you are making contact with the transom mount of the outboard, and it is vibrating against the hull. My 4stroke yammy does the same thing while trolling. |

Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | I've heard of that with other motors also. I believe it has something to do with the fuel levels in the carbs changing with the motor trim. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Also, that motor is a carbed 2+2, running on two cylinders under 1800rpm and 4 over. Might need new plugs. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | Jimtenhaaf, My 04 125 did the same thing. Depending on what kind of bboat you are running you maybe able to start trimming it as it is coming out of your hole shot. I was able to do it on my Crestliner. It popped out of the water very quick like that. My dad has a Fisher with a 04 125 Merc. and it does the same shaking trimmed all the way down. Same thing start trimming the motor up as soon as the bow is starting to drop. |

You know, I completely forgot it does that. I'm betting I do need a new set... I'm on 2 years with these. Usually get a new set each spring, but got lazy this year.

Yeah, I'm able to start trimming it back up quite quickly. And the faster I raise it, the better it comes out of the hole, and onto plane. |
