How is the road construction in the Duluth area? Heading north on Friday and I'm just wondering if I should find an alternate route.

Thanks

Its all tore up south of duluth, i would take either HWY 61 or some of the various county roads(I'd take the county roads)

It's not bad enough to worry about. I drive it every day and it is less than a five minute delay unless you're heading north around 8 am. Same goes for the construction south of Cloquet. Traffic moves pretty quickly and you'll probably slow yourself down more by using a detour.

The only time traffic slows is at rush hour going home and at 7:30AM going into town. It still moves though and not worth driving the extra distance to get around it.

How many miles of gravel/loose tar on 53? Some of the guys with the nice boats would drive an extra 20 minutes or more to avoid those conditions.
