Location: Moorhead, MN | Hey everyone. I'm new to the musky game and I'm looking for some advice. My in-laws have a cabin right by west battle. I've gone out there a couple times in the past but its really been just on a whim and totally fishing blind.
This year I'd like to get a bit more serious about it. I finally got some of my own gear. I went out on Saturday for about 8 hours and didn't have so much as a follow.
Really I only worked one small area for that long. I'm hoping that someone here could give me some advice. I know you don't all want to give up your hotspots but hopefully someone will be willing to steer me in the right direction. I've got a couple ideas of places to try but any info would be great! |

Location: Alexandria, Minnesota | Let me know if you want to get out for a day... That lake fishes different then most lakes and you would learn a ton about the lake on the trip. |

| Not a ton of weed growth on West Battle. What weeds there are grow in the 14-20 foot depth range. Some spots to try include the break line from the boat ramp on the East side to the resort and beyond. The south shore on the esat side just east of the point has a nice weed line as well. There is a 25 foot hole in the NE corner of the west basin that contains nice cabbage as well. Open water trolling is another option as well and most fish will be around the 90 and 111 foot holes in the East Basin. I could go on but then the very helpful guides might start getting upset, |

Location: Moorhead, MN | I'd love to go out on a guided trip. I think I actually emailed you a while ago Musky stalker. I was interested in fly fishing for them but I've decided to hold off. I also don't have any money right now
I was looking at that area mentioned above, but i would have probably spent too much time too shallow to make it worth it. I'll hit the deeper water on Friday afternoon/night. I don't really expect to catch anything but oh well. |

| Is West Battle known as a good fall lake?
Just thinking this might be a fun new lake to hit once the leaves start turning.

| Save your time and hire Musky Stalker if your going to fish West Battle Lake which can be tough at times. Now one knows the lake better and you will learn alot everytime you go out with him. I have never been dissappointed. |
