MF Toilet Bowl Outing Oct 19th - Plans?

Are we getting close enough to start talking about the plans for this event? Right now we don't know anything other then where we're starting....McDermitt's. What about;
1. What time do we start? (Sunup by then will be what time?)
2. Do we regroup during the day?...for lunch, etc.
3. Are there a few who want to throw a few greenbacks in a hat? If so, what time do we re-group to wrap up and find out who won?
4. Who is working on the toilet seat trophy?

You guys let me know and I am down. Regrouping for lunch is not a bad idea, but we have to meet afterwards. Forget the sun up, we should just set a time like 6 or 6 and a half. Weather should cool down so we should only have to battle with other fishermen.

Now being the youngin' I am, since I go out on Fridays you guys may have an advantage on a possibly hung over MuskyPippo but I'll try to stay clean on friday night.

What do ya say $20 per man in a hat?

ALSO!!!!

How are we setting rules? If someone would like to use a sucker are we going by state limits of 3 rods per person? Or tourney rules? In all honesty I don't think we should do anything different from a normal day of fishing, but majority rules.

Pippo:
I agree with "normal days fishng" rules. The whole idea is to have fun and screw around. I think guys will be more than honest if we start having some bets going.

It is a outing not a tourney. Although maybe we should be able to rule out whatever Mr. Chinewalker/Lunchie/Menace is doing because he seems to be too anxious [] ..just kidding.

Although I'm sure it'll be an all out race to spots from the start...lol...north lakes anyone? [;)]

I don't have a preference about what you fish with as long as I get to use my favorite bait which has been producing for me out there lately. My vote is FOR suckers and no more then 3 rods per. Sunup is at about 6:30 now and will be even later by Oct 19. 6:30 sounds like a good start time to me. Any other opinions? I'm down for $20 and offer the following rules for discussion.

1. 30" Minimum
2. Measure to the nearest 1", round up from 1/2" and down from under 1/2"
3. 4 points for 30" and 1 point for each additional inch over 30"
4. Teams that tie, split the pot.
5. 25% of the pot to the longest fish
6. Quitting time 3pm?

I'm in. Even though I'm scared of the favorite bait, I'm still in.

That's a good question. It looks like nobody really wants to own this thing. If we don't all agree on some plans soon, this thing could fall apart. How about we go with the rules stated above and meet at McDermitts at 630am? Lunch location and quitting time can be decided when we get there.

I can't think of another place other then McDermitts that might have enough parking at docks for us. In fact, last time I was at McDermitts, even their place was a little full. If anyone has any other ideas of a HQ location please speak up.

For anyone who has is not signed up for this outing, please go to the outings message board and add your name. If we get more people I'll call Mark and ask him to give us a deal on launch fees.

This is incredible! 30 people drive all the way to Cass and we can't get more then 6 out to drive 45 minutes? Where are the local boys who love to rip on the toilet bowl? ToddM, SetMe31, Musky_Illini, et al. You can buy a one day chain access sticker cheap.

BOYCOTT!! I don't want to give the chain any more money. What a worthless fishery. I've spent more time than I care to admit out there. I suck at fishing in Illinois. It's time to cut my losses.

I'm going to follow ToddM to his secret fishing spot. He seems to be on a good pattern.

Just kidding of course. How much is a one day pass?[]

Hold on...the way things are going, i may have a spot in my boat....i will know very soon. Ya gotta break that Chain jinx!!! Not that i am the best shot for it. An idea for the guys going. Bring your hand held walkie/talkies (the 2 mile ones) they would be great for updating/screwing around etc.

Looking forward to fishing the bowl...

Try calling Triangle Sports on Grass Lake road. I think they have stickers and they do have suckers.

Is 6:30 going to be too early? I don't care about time but will it be dark out? How about we fish till 4 instead of 3?
Everything else sounds good to me. If McDermott's is full Barnacle Bob's will work (I'll be launching out of B. Bob's.)

For suckers, Triangle, Barnacle Bob's and Sorenson's arev the only places I know.

Uh oh the big GOOMBA will be on the lake? So the money is for most points and biggest fish correct?
Can we get a tally of boats so far?

Do we also get the cool MuskieFIRST banner for a pic? I'll make sure to put my gold teeth in. []

Phil,
Usually the $20.00/man is for big fish (total length for a single fish; winner takea all. Maybe we could earmark some cash ($5.00 of that $20.00/man) for total points if team(s) double/triple up?

We could finish up with beers/cocktails at McDermits after 4:00PM on the south end of Channel Lake to divy up the winnings??[8)]

Either way on the contest part is fine.

We can also have a few drinks at our original Outing spot. It's on the corner of 41 and 173, BABY DOLLS!!! Yeaaahh![] [] []

Or McDermotts will do.

I just finished reading the new issue of Muskie Magazine. There's an article about the Flatlander's trip to LOTW. On one day they put the names of the copilots in a hat and drew for new partners for half the day. That was an interesting way to mix it up and meet some new people and possibly learn some new tactics. Anyone interested in doing this for 1/2 a day at a lunch break?

Hey Luke,

Wazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Upppppppppppppppp!
That lure your talking about, thats not the one you picked up at the hardware store on clearance is it?

The rules sound fine to me. If you want Luke, you can just give me your $20.00, save a little wear and tear on your wallet bud.

Whats the speed limit after dark on the chain Luke? Can you say "25 MPH."

Best of luck to you bud, and all that fish on the 19th. Sounds like a great time, glad to be a part of it!

Yes the Speed limit after dark IS 25mph not 32mph which will cost you $75....CASH! I think I found my argument for a GPS unit.

Just a heads up to anyone interested....both me and Luke will gladly open up our boats to anyone who wants to fish this little gathering but is without marine transportation. Azrael vs. the Red Menace.....tough choice: the Menace is definitely more comfortable, sea-worthy and safe....Azrael catches fish.

and does anyone have room in their boat for me? (I'd pay of gas, launch fees, ect..)

I don't know about you, but I am very much in trouble considering things I think and do as well as things that I find lacking in my own character. Frankly, if everyone was honest about this, even the best woman or man who ever lived would have to admit to being a failure when it comes to controlling appetites, thoughts, passions, laziness and selfishness. This is to everyone fishing the Fox Toilet Bowl, stay clear of Azreal and SLAMR, you will not catch anything!

Walking Holy, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

We figured on 7am start at Mcdermotts. I will be launching from Bobs Marina and will seing over there by 7am. If anybody has those 2mile radius radios, bring them. I will have mine in the boat. I have one extra as well. They are great for keeping contact (bragging/bitching etc).
