Location: Madison, WI | Hey guys,
I love using doll eyes for my baits, I notice a number of other builders do as well. I was wondering at what step in the process builders are adding the eyes? Do most of you put a couple of coats of E-tex over the eyes after they have been fixed to the bait? Any issues with the epoxy flowing well around them? Bubbles, fish eyes?

Location: Loves Park, IL | I put on the doll eyes prior to the topcoat of either D2T or Etex. I usually put a couple coats over the eyes and have had no problems with bubbles or fish eyes. I use 5 minute epoxy to affix them to the bait and use a generous amount to fill in any voids under the eyes. Doll eyes are pretty nice looking but animal eyes of the same type are even better, but harder to find.

Location: South-Central PA | On both my snake skin baits and my painted baits, I do one coat of epoxy before adding the eyes. I then use several coats over top of the eyes.

| I always put the eyes on after the paint dries and before any clearcoat. The sticky back on most eyes is plenty to hold them on, then put at least two coats over everything. |
