Location: Lake St.Clair | Im stumped... Ive been making a few of these resin crankbaits but Im having trouble cutting the slot square to the lure. I use my bandsaw and "eyeball" the slot but it takes ALOT of time for me and patience (which I lack in that department) . Its not easy trying to cut a square slot on a rounded body. I know its ALOT easier cutting the slot on a table saw when the Wood is still a blank but thats not the case in my situation obviously. I didnt want to add a slot to my mold since I enjoy playing around with different angles of the slot and the placements. Im sure somebody, thats alot smarter than me, has thought of a solution to this problem? If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated while I still have hair left on my head. lol Thanks all, Rick

Location: Lake St.Clair | Thats the answer I was expecting, but not the one i wanted. lol I was hoping for something along the lines of "its easy, just do this and that" Ha-ha .thanks though I do appreciate it.. Anyone have an idea of how to begin to make a jig for a crankbait? Thanks, Rick

Location: Freedom, WI | Rick - Not easy because of the bait being round. Go to a wood working shop and get a tenon jig similar to this one http://woodgears.ca/tenon/review.html . Cut some wood to cradle your bait so you can clamp it. This might give you some ideas to get you thinking. |

Location: London, England | You could make a perfect jig by making a plaster of paris form in a shallow box, like if you were making a mould. That way you know that the lure is perfectly positioned and square. 4 sides of a box the right size, maybe the hook hangers could rest on the sides so that you'd know it was centred and level before you poured the POP? |
