Musky Lures?

Subject: Musky Lures?

I have been fishing muskie for about a year now, and the only lure that I seem to have lots of confidence in is the bucktail. Maybe it is because that is what I have caught all my fish on, but I use that bait more than any of my others so mayber it is just a matter of what lure gets the most airtime. I have heard many people say that bucktails aren't productive in the fall. What do you think? What would you recommend throwing for the rest of this year? Please post a reply, I am anxious to hear your thoughts and ideas about this. Thanks a lot![:)]

I still toss bucktails into the fall period, especially during low light periods, but just not as often as during warmer water periods. As the water cools I think more of BIG, SLOW, and DEEP. Crankbaits and jerkbaits in larger sizes get my vote. Will even go to large creature baits when I want it really slow and deep. Think I've been fairly successful using these tactics, but others may have differing and better suggestions.
