i have an tiller 04 four-stroke mercury, and am wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to put on a newer handle on it. would like to have one of the newer style handles with the gear shift right by the throttle?

I just installed one on my 07 90hp. I don't know if they make it for your year, but if they do- install it yourself. Saved me an extra $400 and was very easy to do.

I love it btw- well worth the money

Looked into this myself on my 60hp 2006 merc. I found out that the big tiller handle can only be put on 2008 and newer enginers. Was really bummed about this, as I hate having the gear shift and trim control away from the throttle. Looks like i may have to upgrade motors in a few years.

Heres a link to check out

Mine is a 2007. No problems, you just have to order the correct 13 pin plug or whatever your year motor takes).

Just saw one of your previous posts. you have a 90 hp. Must be different
for the bigger engines then.

Yep 90hp.

That's a bummer if you can't get it on your motor
