Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | Hey fellas- wanted to show off the gifts my groomsmen are about to get. I call it ‘The Bache-Lure ™’! Since some of my groomsmen have less experience musky-fishing than others, I had some very specific design requirements… it had to be a surface bait, because that’s just more fun. It had to be useable in a straight retrieve, since using a walk-the-dog effectively can take a little more finesse. And since I don’t have a drill press or a lathe, a tail-turner would have been problematic. And possibly most importantly, It had to be functional, since I really want the guys to use them. Turns out, the action is surprisingly awesome! They have a nice wide jitterbug walk, throw quite a bit of water, and look good at both slow and high speed retrieves.
With my bachelor party going on this weekend on Mille Lacs, I’m hoping one of the guys actually gets some action on one! Cheers!

Congrats on the up coming marriage. Hopefully your fishing habits don't change once the ball and chain become permenantly attached!!!!! LOL

Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | Thanks, everybody! The best man managed to get a 50"er... not on a Bache-Lure, but on a bucktail he made. So not too bad. And I did have a nice northern hit one of these on a day where we weren't getting anything to move, so at least I know they mostly work. |

I was trying to figure out how to stencil on the jacket collar, and making a little bow-tie stencil, and thinking of how much of a pain that would be... until I found the paint pen at my local art supply store! Then the only stencil I had to do was the 'V' of the jacket lapels. I'm also planning on making a 'Padre' version as a thank-you for our pastor, since he's a fisherman as well. |

Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | Matzuo 4/0 sickle hooks. I've been playing with them for awhile, and feel like they hook up better for me on fish taking a swipe at lures. But maybe that's just because I think they look kind of bada$$. |

Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | After making the 'Bache-Lures' for my groomsmen, I decided I should make one for our pastor... family friend of my bride-to-be, and avid fisherman. But instead of a tuxedo, it seemed he should have his own.
I also made a couple smaller ones (bass-sized) for the ring bearers.
Getting married this weekend, so we'll see how much lure-building I get to do from now on! Fortunately, I got a keeper.
